Welcome to An Unscripted Future

Today our communities face leadership challenges and opportunities which bring an increased perception of personal responsibility and risk.

This is a time when each of us must exercise leadership to diagnose shifting situations and engage others in designing interventions that are less about achieving pre-defined outcomes, than they are about moving forward, collaboratively, toward approximate goals in an environment of increased, but managed, conflict and uncertainty.

These cycles of assessment/diagnosis, intervention and evaluation, within ever-shortening time horizons, are increasingly becoming the hallmark of our times and I welcome conversations about their impact on our lives.

Welcome to An Unscripted Future.

Tuesday is for Training

Our local mental health provider has been expanding its programming and staffing levels for several years...increasing its range and program reach into underserved communities throughout the county. Its administration recognizes the importance of leadership training for its staff and has contracted to design and provide this 10 month training program. Its focus is not on management training but leadership training for life...with the belief that wherever their staff is working, they need the skills and tools to successfully serve their communities.

After facilitating this morning's training, I'm off to moderator training for a community conversation on Math, Engineering, Technology and Science Education throughout the region. It promises to be an interesting and challenging day.
