Welcome to An Unscripted Future

Today our communities face leadership challenges and opportunities which bring an increased perception of personal responsibility and risk.

This is a time when each of us must exercise leadership to diagnose shifting situations and engage others in designing interventions that are less about achieving pre-defined outcomes, than they are about moving forward, collaboratively, toward approximate goals in an environment of increased, but managed, conflict and uncertainty.

These cycles of assessment/diagnosis, intervention and evaluation, within ever-shortening time horizons, are increasingly becoming the hallmark of our times and I welcome conversations about their impact on our lives.

Welcome to An Unscripted Future.

The Civic Leadership Training Council (CLTC) is one of dozens of Community Leadership Training Programs across the state. Each of us has an established program which highlights elements of our community and provides opportunities for networking with representatives from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Many of these community-based programs offer various skills-based instruction in building community and group facilitation and the focus and content of these programs varies by community. While most are associated with local Chambers of Commerce, our CLTC is an independent nonprofit which has evolved, over time, to provide an array of programs funded by a variety of earned income streams.

Our Offender Reentry Initiative is one of those programs. Others include our Neighborhood Leadership Program, The Next Chapter Initiative, which focuses on civic engagement among older residents of the County, and our Executive Series for incoming executives who are interested in our community history and culture, but who don't have the time to dedicate to our 10 month leadership program.
